The Jacksons are fearing
for Paris' life
When Paris Jackson posted
an Instagram video of herself in March walking along the ledge of a skyscraper,
it gave her family flashbacks.
One relative compared it
to the infamous 2002 incident in which Paris’ father, Michael, dangled his
then-infant son, Blanket, over a fourth-floor balcony of the Hotel Adlon in
Berlin.
“But this is worse than
that because I still think Michael had control of Blanket and they weren’t
nearly as high up as Paris is in this video,” the relative told Page Six.
“She’s lost it. She really has.”
In the clip, the
wild-child 20-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson can be seen hanging out with her rumored girlfriend, model-actress Cara Delevingne,25, and
some friends at a restaurant. The video shows Paris and Delevingne talking
loudly to one another, failing to complete sentences and staggering about.
It then cuts to Paris
walking on a ledge as vehicles and pedestrians could barely be seen seemingly
dozens of stories below.
She momentarily loses
her balance, before slipping back into Delevingne’s arms.
“I almost died!” Paris
captioned the video which is no longer on the platform.
“Everyone saw that
video, and even though we all knew that she’s now OK, watching it was so
traumatic that nobody wants to show it to either Katherine or Joe,” the
relative said of Paris’ paternal grandparents.
Jackson insiders reveal a
shared fear that Paris is out of control and, per a family source, heading for
a “serious meltdown.”
Right now, there are no
plans for an intervention, according to the family source. “It’s not happening,
but everyone will regret it if she dies out there.”
The worries are
compounded by the young woman’s troubled past, which has, by her own accounts,
included three
suicide attempts and a history that includes self-harming, being cyber bullied and
sexually assaulted, and struggling with sobriety and self-esteem issues.
She posted on Instagram on
what would have been her father’s 59th birthday last year that he was “the only
person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals
to live by and how to dream.”
But insiders say the
high of new romance and new friendships has seemingly opened Paris up to more
dangerous passions.
“Paris feels free, crazy
and uninhibited around her female companions. It just feels right,” said the
relative.
Last November, she was
photographed in France scaling lampposts while chain-smoking and taking selfies
in what has been described as a “rundown area.” While in Australia, she was
photographed licking a window and making funny faces at the paparazzi at the
Melbourne Cup horse races.
Not only is the Jackson
family keeping Paris’ social media antics from her grandparents, they’re also
keeping her love life under wraps — especially since, the relative said,
matriarch Katherine recently suffered a stroke and is recovering at her
daughter Rebbie’s home.
“[Paris’ grandma
Katherine is] not a champion of same-sex couples,” the relative added. “In fact,
she may even be distraught and believe she failed as a guardian.”
Still, Paris and
Delevingne have received Culkin’s blessings. “It’s pretty obvious that they are
heavily involved in one another’s life,” said the relative.
Paris was photographed a
couple of weeks ago looking cozy with Andrei Gillott, 33, a Guns N’ Roses
employee, but insiders say she is still with Delevingne. They also note their
relief that Paris is away from ex-boyfriend Michael Snoddy, whom she dated from 2016
to 2017 and who had moved in with her at Michael’s home in Encino, Calif.
She has been able to move beyond those issues as well, Paris shared.
“I’ve had self-esteem issues for a really, really long time,” Paris said. “Plenty of people think I’m ugly, and plenty of people don’t. But there’s a moment when I’m modeling where I forget about my self-esteem issues and focus on what the photographer’s telling me – and I feel pretty.”
“[Members of the] family
were concerned that he was just using her to make contacts in show business,”
the relative said.
Now, they hope that
Paris will find true love — but also stay grounded, sober and safe.
“Michael would have
wanted her to be happy,” the relative said. “If Cara or whoever it might be
makes her happy and complete, at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all
about.”
