J.K. Rowling (you kidding us, we think) confirms Hogwarts Express stop in Chicago
Is the Damen Blue Line stop
secretly Chicago’s own Platform 9 ¾?
As a tweet from “Harry Potter” author
J.K. Rowling on Tuesday morning, maybe!
Blue
Line rider and Twitter user @mehow87 – display name Michal Wilczewski – posted a
photo of a chalk-drawn door on the side of a brick building next to the Damen
Blue Line stop, tweeting it at
Rowling to ask, “@jk_rowling can you tell me more about this
door to Hogwarts at the Damen Blue Line stop in Chicago?”
Even casual Harry Potter fans know all about the Hogwarts Express and how to board it at Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross Station in London. What they might not know is that apparently, you can also get on the famous train at the Damen Blue Line stop in Chicago right here in the U.S.We’re joking, of course, or at least we think J.K. Rowling was kidding when she responded to a tweet insinuating that a hand-drawn door in Chicago was the real deal.
The author responded to Wilczewski and told him the entrance is
for exchange students from Ilvermorny.
Ilvermorny is a North American wizarding school located at
the top of Mount Greylock.
Rowling did not specify if the door takes students straight to Hogwarts
or if a CTA train provides transportation.
Here’s Rowling, showing off one of her more awesome qualities by playing
right along
